What are the responsibilities and job description for the Partnerships and Events Intern (Summer) position at LakePoint Sports?
Summary and Attributes:
Working alongside and taking direction from the Partnerships & Marketing Team, the Marketing &
Events Intern is responsible for helping to facilitate all aspects of scheduled events and promotional
activities. The candidate should have an appreciation for special events management and providing outstanding customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partnership activation support on select event weekends at LakePoint Sports: marketing materials dissemination, prospect hosting prep, promotional cupholder stuffers, installation of temporary signage and other Partnership and event related duties.
- Assist in keeping events email inbox and calendar up to date.
- Assist Partnership “Brand Ambassadors” with product information and support required for game day needs.
- Guest database management, lead generation support and data entry.
- General administrative support.
- Serve as a liaison with vendors on event-related matters for LakePoint-hosted events.
- Support special projects as required.
- Assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein, but which are logically and properly inherent to the position. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Management or other related academic field.
- Prior experience working with email marketing software is an asset.
- Prior experience in scheduling and managing events is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, while maintaining and following company event protocols and procedures.
- Highly professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers in person, through email, and by phone.
- Ability to assist during evening and weekend events
Work Environment:
- Office setting with the expectation to attend on campus events.
- Regular attendance is a necessary job function required for this position. Typical business hours are anticipated with various attendance hours expected at events which depends on the season, program, or event. Frequent weekend work will be required.
- Work may take place in an outdoor setting in a variety of weather conditions while standing, walking, bending, and lifting for long periods of time.
