Position Overview:
Lakes Area Security LLC is seeking highly reliable and dedicated On-Call Security Officers to support emergency shelter operations in collaboration with the Grand Forks Emergency Management Agency. This position is on-call and requires immediate response when activated during emergency events such as severe storms.
Compensation:
- $500/month guaranteed stipend – paid regardless of deployment status
- $18/hour during active deployment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safety and security for emergency shelters during activation
- Respond immediately and without exception upon notification
- Assist emergency personnel as needed in ensuring order and protection of shelter occupants
- Patrol assigned shelter areas and monitor for suspicious or disruptive activity
- Document incidents and maintain a strong security presence
Requirements:
- Must be able to respond immediately upon activation—no exceptions
- Excellent situational awareness and calm demeanor under pressure
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or emergency services preferred
- Must pass a background check
- Reliable transportation and ability to remain on standby while on-call
Schedule:
- On-Call Basis: Hours vary and depend on emergency activations
- Flexibility is essential – this is not a regular scheduled position
