Group 3 from $16.93 to $21.35 per hour
This position is for the 2024-2025 schoolyear.
Position Purpose : Provides library and technical support for the building level instructional resource needs of students and staff.
Responsibilities :
- Communicate and cooperate with colleagues, supervisors, students, and parents. Maintains a positive attitude
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Library Media Specialist or Building Principal
- Participate in District Emergency Plans as needed at the building level
- Shelve materials into the collection in a timely manner (daily)
- Check resources in and out using electronic circulation software
- Manage overdue items and interlibrary loans (ILL)
- Collect fine money under the supervision of the Library Media Specialist
- Process library materials, including book jacketing, adding spine labels, stamping, and adding date due slips
- Repair damaged books when appropriate
- Supervise / assist students and staff while in the library. Assist students and staff to locate and use resources
- Manage the inventory of resources in the school, including lost or damaged items
- Collaboratively plan with Library Media Specialist to create displays to promote library resources and services
- Support the Library Media Specialist in his / her effort to teach students information literacy
- Inventory library supplies and make recommendations to Library Media Specialist with regards to ordering needs
- Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district
Technology & AV Responsibilities :
Maintain digital recording equipment for instructional use (cameras, camcorders, DVD drives, etc.)
Assist with connectivity issues and AV ports at the point of need
Manage scheduling for lab
Provides basic AV & IT troubleshooting support to teachers and students (student PLDs, teacher laptops, printers, cords, connectivity, projectors, SMARTboards, AppleTV, Avervisions, Redcats)
