JOB DESCRIPTION
- Maintain a child-centered, inviting, safe, and clean classroom
- Organize and provide a play-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood education program
- Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving
- Interact with families, maintain open & cooperative communication, and encourage involvement in the program
- Ensure all children’s basic needs are met while at Lakes Early Learning Center.
- Participate in on going professional development and attend staff meetings/trainings
- Collaborate with other staff, assistant director, and director on a regular basis
- Maintain required trainings and certifications
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS
- Has a love for children and seeks to grow and develop children
- Ability to interact & communicate in a professional and positive manner with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
- Ability to provide activities for children that encourage healthy growth and development
- Maintain a consistent, positive attitude toward situations, children, families, &. co-workers
- Knowledge of early childhood education programs and child development
- Knowledge of applicable Licensing standards and health and safety procedures.
- Completion of Child Care Essentials training -- if not, we will help you complete this training series!
- Current CPR First Aid Certification -- if not, we will help you to obtain!
- Must meet licensing requirements set by the State of Iowa
- Early Childhood Related Degree preferred for Lead and Assistant Teachers
BENEFITS COMPENSATION
- Starting $14-$20 per hour / Wage is dependent on experience, education, & position.
- Full Time: 4- 10 hour days
