THE ROLE:
The Direct Support Professional is someone who is going to walk alongside the client to aid them in reaching their own personal goals. For some, the goal may be having the ability to grocery shop despite the possibility of something triggering their PTSD. Another goal may be developing a plan to keep their home clean while experiencing depression symptoms. You will work in clients’ homes daily and the position will require consistent monitoring and communication using our communication platforms. This role is key to our clients’ success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interact with and encourage clients daily.
- Assist clients gaining skills in all life areas.
- Read and record progress in each client’s individual service plan.
- Document all interactions with clients.
- Educate & guide clients with: banking and budgeting, shopping and decision making, managing self-care needs, recreation, leisure, and vocational activities. All to help the individual establish an ordinary daily living routine.
- Value the input and know-how of other team members; ask for help, when needed.
- Transport clients in personal or company vehicles.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
EVERY WEEKEND OR EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
- Excellent internal and external communication skills, especially written.
- Shows aptitude for being a team player and mentor to peers.
- High focus.
- Maintains a high level of understanding of behavior (we will teach you!)
- Friendly, Courteous, and Approachable
- Provides constructive criticism in a professional manner to build someone up instead of tear down.
- High-level problem-solving skills
- Access to a reliable, insured car and smart phone.
- Finds excitement in building therapeutic relationships.
- Able to confidently and discreetly work with confidential information.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
