IDD Provider Specialist
The IDD Provider Specialist position is responsible for designing and implementing group and individualized activities at the Individualized Skills and Socialization (ISS) and/or residential settings program, as well as providing direct care services to persons with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and evaluate therapeutic programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, planning individual activities tailored to their needs.
- Collaborate with individual's Provider Care Coordinators, family members, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support.
- Daily documentation of services, adherence to safety procedures, and assistance with facility and vehicle maintenance are essential responsibilities.
- As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the IDD Provider Specialist contributes to overall program development and implementation, as requested.
- Direct care services include assistance and training with personal hygiene, food preparation, feeding, mobility, community access, recreation, leisure activities, and basic health care needs.
- Providing training and assistance with daily living activities, including medication administration, housekeeping, transportation, and individualized goal achievement.
- Implementing behavior management programs and intervening in emergency situations, when necessary.
- Maintaining a productive, clean, comfortable, and safe environment, while serving as a positive role model for those we serve.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Able to assess and evaluate classroom effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
- Knowledgeable about therapeutic techniques and modalities for working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Exercise independent judgment, work with minimal supervision, and communicate effectively with individuals and co-workers.
- Preferring computer skills, including MS Word and Excel, for efficient data management and reporting.
