Lakeshore Beverage is a Chicagoland beverage distributor that’s deeply passionate about beer, cider and wine. We are currently seeking a self-motivated, highly-organized team member to assist the sales team in producing maximum sales and distribution of draft and/or package products and providing quality service to customers. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and will be motivated to advance—success in this position can lead to an opportunity as an Area Sales Manager.

This is a full-time regular position offering excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and 401(k) plans, paid vacation, personal leave, and a company vehicle.

This position's sales territory is located in the North Chicago Suburbs territory. The sales support representative will travel to Lakeshore Beverage's Arlington Heights location for monthly meetings and other occasional business needs.

Typical Duties include:

- Maintain retail call frequency to include: follow structured selling process, maintain inventory levels, building and restocking, booking displays, permanent point of sale placements, selling in additional shelf space, rotate product, filling shelves, planning promotion activities, follow-up on delivery issues, and resolve billing issues;

- Introduce and sell in new brands and packages including activities to support sell through, as necessary;

- Complete required paperwork such as: point sheets, expense reports, tracking forms, surveys and work orders;

- Establish and monitor quality control standards (product freshness, finished product loss);

- Communicate with all division departments as necessary;

- Participate in evening and weekend promotions as necessary;

- Make daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, sales data tools (IRI, CDT, WEARS), changes in climate, competitive activity and special promotional activities;

- Maintain all required information in mobility units;

- Comply with all legal guidelines, Wholesaler Equity Agreement and Lakeshore Beverage standards and policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED certificate required. Bachelor’s degree preferred;

- 2 years beer selling or merchandising experience;

- Valid Illinois driver license;

- Safe driving record;

- Able to lift, load, unload, and move products weighing up to 165 lbs as well as hang merchandising materials;

- Must meet Wholesaler Equity Agreement Certification requirements for the position within required timeframes;

- Strong verbal and written communication skills;

- Project a friendly, courteous and professional image;

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);

- Highly self-motivated and results oriented;

- Excellent internal and external customer orientation;

- Excellent problem solving skills with strong attention to detail;

- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends;

- Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay: $38,000.00 per year
