LOCATIONS: Lakeshore College - Cleveland, Wisconsin

POSITION SUMMARY: Lakeshore College is seeking a part-time instructor to provide instruction in the Industrial Electrician Apprenticeship program. This role requires expertise in Programmable Logic Controllers, Transformers, Motors and Generators, and the National Electric Code. The instructor will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in courses such as AC/DC, Industrial Motor Controls, National Electric Code, Programmable Logic Controllers, Industrial Electrician Transformers, and Motors and Generators. This is a part-time position requiring 8 hours per week during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters.

Educate students with core knowledge and current developments in the discipline. Provide regular curriculum and course improvement with continually updated teaching methods. Participate in subject or program leadership teams and college-wide committees. Work effectively in a team-based environment. Seek opportunities for continuous professional development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other Duties May Be Assigned)

100% Instruction

  • Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in various delivery formats, schedules, and in various places in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of: facilitating learning of diverse students, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members.
  • Developing curriculum, including learning activities and assessments.
  • Work with curriculum coach to ensure state and Lakeshore design requirements are met.
  • Teaching/training in business and industry may be assigned.

Education And Experience

  • Technical Diploma in a related discipline required or valid Journeywork card in discipline or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, of which at least 1 year (2,000 hours) shall be within 5 years prior to date of hire. One year (2,000 hours) of recent related occupational experience may be waived if the applicant has at least 2 years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within 5 years prior to date of hire.
  • Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Must also meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and/or other job specific licensing standards.

Certifications, Licensure, Registration

  • Journey Worker card preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment may require multi-tasking.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
