This is a seasonal position that runs from April to mid-December. The driver will be responsible for servicing assigned routes with portable restrooms, hand wash stations, and other equipment within the Pit Stop Division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
- Service portable restrooms, hand wash stations, and other company equipment to meet or exceed the company's standards for service.
- Complete assigned routes.
- Communicate with dispatch as route changes or issues arise.
- Maintain and update route sheets.
- Conduct pre-trip/post trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain and update drivers log sheets.
- Interact professionally with internal and external customers.
- Keep the truck clean and operating properly within the driver's ability.
Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand a map.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions).
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
- Previous CDL truck driving experience preferred.
- Waste industry experience, a plus.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid Class B CDL.
- Must have a valid DOT medical card or obtain prior to hire.
- No DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
- No license suspensions within the last 2 years.
- No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training.
Physical Demands / Environmental Factors:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand and walk.
- Repetitive lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing up to 40lbs.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to residential and commercial waste.
- Possible exposure to high traffic conditions while outside of the vehicle.
