Position Summary
The Production/Finishing Assistant is responsible for the production of books or book parts in an efficient
manner. This position is to ensure the manufacture of books of the highest quality at the lowest cost, the
neatness and cleanliness of the layout, the lubrication and cleaning of machines, and accurate counts and
record keeping. Safety of self and co-workers, the quality of the product, and the application of the best-known
method to secure the most efficient production are also essential.
Responsibilities
Producing books and/or book parts in the most efficient manner possible, ensuring the highest quality
at the lowest possible cost.
Demonstrated ability to function in a team environment.
Overall safety of crewmembers and performing all duties in adherence with safety guidelines and
procedures.
Accuracy and maintenance of various records, reports, and paperwork.
Overall team leadership, team building, and dedication high standards of production and safety
Performs transactions, data-entry, printing, distribution, inventory and follow-up functions using various
computer systems and processes.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of employees is essential
Ability to comprehend and interpret written and verbal instructions with limited supervision
Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively handle simultaneous tasks
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a repetitive basis
Previous successful operation of multi-function machines
Demonstrated ability effectively lead work teams
Must be willing and able to backfill at a Tech III level
Must be willing and able to operator a Hoist
Basic computer and math skills
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and demonstrated organizational skills are required
Must list all relevant skills and qualifications for position when applying.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to work a rotating shift, weekends and overtime as needed
Must be in good standing with no current final warnings
