Are you passionate about precision, print, and the magic of turning digital designs into tangible pages? We're looking for a Prepress Operator to join our high-performing team and prepare files that help power the book production process from start to finish.
This role can be based at either of our key manufacturing hubs—Crawfordsville, IN or Willard, OH—where you’ll work closely with production teams to ensure every file is print-perfect.

Are you passionate about precision, print, and the magic of turning digital designs into tangible pages? We're looking for a Prepress Operator to join our high-performing team and prepare files that help power the book production process from start to finish.
This role can be based at either of our key manufacturing hubs—Crawfordsville, IN or Willard, OH—where you’ll work closely with production teams to ensure every file is print-perfect.
Position Details:
- Reports to: Digital Services Supervisor
- Location: Crawfordsville, IN: North Plant (1009 Sloan Street) or South Plant (600 State Road 32 West) OR Willard, OH: 1145 S Conwell Ave
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
- Pay: $25–$29/hour
- Preflight, process, and build print-ready jobs from customer files
- Perform quality checks and generate accurate digital proofs
- Prepare files for plating, digital output, and proofing workflows
- Upload large file batches to internal/external portals like Scout
- Track job progress and maintain clear documentation
- Follow detailed specifications to meet tight production timelines
- Support production teams with expert-level file prep and problem-solving
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to troubleshoot file issues efficiently
- Self-motivation and comfort working independently in a fast-paced setting
- Strong communication and adaptability to shifting priorities
- Proficiency in both Mac and PC environments
- Experience or working knowledge of:
- Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Kodak Preps, Impostrip
- Familiarity with prepress or digital print workflows is a plus
- Comfortable sitting at a computer for extended periods.
- Able to manage multiple tasks in a high-volume production environment.
- May occasionally lift or handle print materials as needed.
- Internally, this role is a level 2.
