POSITION TITLE:          Teacher

 

FLSA:                             Exempt

 

QUALIFICATIONS:        Must meet certification requirements

 

REPORTS TO:              Principal and/or other Supervisor

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  New teachers prox 193 days; returning teachers prox 188 days with benefits available.

 

                            

Qualifications: All candidates for open positions are employed by Lakeside Community Chapel as Christian Educators at Lakeside Christian School. General education tasks include integrating scripture, witnessing the gospel, and various coaching opportunities.  Potential employees will meet the following expectations.

  •         Possess a clear testimony of salvation and mature biblical knowledge.
  •         Provide references that attest to a Christ-like and biblically-directed lifestyle.
  •         Affirm LCC Doctrinal Statement.
  •         Attend a local evangelical church.
  •         Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in education.
  •         Hold to belief in a literal 6-day Creation as taught in Genesis 1.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  1. Represent school in a professional, ethical, and biblical manner in all aspects and areas of life.

  2. Implement LCS instructional objectives.

  3. Maintain student gradebooks, records, and curriculum maps within required timeframes.

  4. Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans by deadline.

  5. Attend and participate in all faculty meetings.

  6. Participate in other areas of LCC/LCS ministry outside of the classroom.

  7. Communicate with peers, parents, and students in a Christ-like manner.

  8. Comply with School Policies and Procedures.

  9. Effectivly utilizes all instructional technology.

  10. Demonstrate Biblical knowledge and a Christian Worldview that is integrated into everyday instruction.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:   

  1. Abide by ethics statutes, school board policies, and regulations.
  2. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  3. Implement a school-wide behavior management plan.
  4. Serve on committees as assigned.
  5. Remain current on instructional practices in education.  (e.g. instructional technology)
  6. As assigned by the ministry.
  7. Coaching opportunities available-Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Football

 

Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
