Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller/Office Manager to join our medical team. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills and will be responsible for managing billing processes and overseeing the day-to-day operation of the clinic.
Duties
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers to ensure proper coding of diagnoses and procedures.
- Reviewing EOBs and posting payments.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies or issues with billing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
- Communicate with insurance companies to follow up issues with billing.
- Answer patients' questions on their bill.
- Assist in the management of medical collections, ensuring timely payments from patients and insurers.
- Administrative duties that are required for smooth operation of the clinic.
Experience
Candidates should possess a strong background in medical billing, including familiarity with medical coding practices. Preferred qualifications include:
- At least one year of experience with medical billing.
- Experience with Epic EMR and Office Ally clearinghouse.
- Ability to type at least 45 wpm.
