What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiology Scheduler position at Lakeside MRI & Diagnostic Center?

Position Objectives:
Responsible for scheduling patients in a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous manner that meets and complies with Lakeside MRI & Diagnostic Center operational guidelines. Responsible for gathering and disseminating the correct patient information and providing excellent service to patients.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Scheduling patients using electronic Radiology Information System.
- Notify physician's offices of appointment status' as needed.
- Maintain a current working knowledge of the scheduling parameters i.e. the type and length of examination and any other scheduling requirements.
- Confirm schedule for the next day and make reminder calls to all scheduled patients.
- Call physician office for orders, labs, history and physicals daily.
- Collect information for new physicians and enter new physician information into the patients account when received from medical staffing.
- Job Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of experience in Radiology preferred.
- Experience in health care computers systems
- Must have experience scheduling procedures
- Must be able to type 45 words per minute.
- Must be knowledgeable of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.
- Must possess the ability to examine and verify physician orders.
- Must be able to prepare requested reports in a systematic, neat, and legible manner.
- Beneficial if candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
