Seeking Full-Time /Patient Coordinator/Prior Authorization employee. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Medical practice at Northside Hospital Forsyth. Office hours Monday - Friday 800 am -5:00 pm. If you are a job hopper or do not have a strong work history...this job is not for you! We are NOT looking for someone who cannot put their cellphone down to do their job. We are only interested in applicants that are serious about their employment. Must have strong organizational and computer skills. Allscripts/Veradigm software applications knowledge a plus!
Applicant must be extremely detail oriented, capable of multi-tasking and possess great people skills. Must be a good team player and a self-starter. Your duties include but are not limited to: Patient registration, answering phones and routing calls, scheduling appointments, distributing faxes to the appropriate personnel. Taking messages from patients and entering into Allscripts/Veradigm. Sending orders to facilities with patients notes and needed information; locating any records or diagnostic tests for doctors to review and scan into EHR. Checks phone messages and enters into EHR. Works with insurance companies to obtain prior authorization for medications and infusions (Leqembi). Very busy neurology practice, must be able to multi-task, work efficiently and stay on task. Responsibilities:
-Sending orders created by physicians to correct facilities along with necessary documentation; making sure that they are received by said facility.
-Making appointments for patients. Registration for new patients before making appointments.
- Coordinating appointments for patients at facilities and office for testing ordered by physicians and following through to make sure orders are received by correct facility.
-Answering phone; making appointments and routing calls to the correct department or person.
-Responsible for incoming faxes and distribution.
-Responsible for medical record requests and completion of requests. HIPAA compliance is a MUST for this position.
-Review and process prior authorization requests and renewals for Leqembi infusion patients.
-Coordination of patient assistance for Leqembi patients (setting up delivery for patients that receive free Leqembi medication)
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for requested services
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary information and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Utilize medical coding knowledge to accurately assign appropriate codes for procedures and diagnoses
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prior authorization requests and outcomes
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure timely and efficient processing of prior authorizations
- Stay updated on industry changes, including managed care policies, ICD-10 coding guidelines, and medical terminology
Skills:
- Proficient in medical coding, including knowledge of ICD-10 codes
- Familiarity with managed care policies and procedures
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and documentation practices
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Experience working in an office or medical records setting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with insurance verification processes
