Optometrist

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team to work 1-2 days/week at a busy private practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis of eye diseases, and prescribing corrective lenses. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
• Diagnose and manage ocular conditions, including glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and provide recommendations for visual aids.
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
• Utilize medical terminology effectively in documentation and communication.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.

Experience

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution is required.
• Licensure to practice optometry in the relevant state.
• Knowledge of optical principles, anatomy, physiology, and medical coding is preferred.
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and the ability to take vital signs is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills to enhance patient interactions and satisfaction.
• Experience with electronic medical records systems is a plus.

Pay: $500.00 - $600.00 per day
