Facilities Engineer
The Manufacturing Facilities Engineer is responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing facilities to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations. This role requires expertise in facility layout, equipment selection, utility systems, and process optimization. The Manufacturing Facilities Engineer plays a key role in supporting production goals, managing facility resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the layout and design of manufacturing plants, including machinery placement, utilities, and workflows.
- Optimize existing layouts for improved production efficiency, safety, and space utilization.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is ready when equipment arrives to the facility
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment and facilities.
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues related to equipment, facility layout, and overall production processes.
- Ensure the manufacturing facility meets local, state, and federal regulations concerning safety, environmental, and health standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, conduct safety audits, and oversee emergency preparedness procedures.
- Use of technical knowledge and expertise to ensure that facilities are constructed efficiently, within budget, and meet regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and manage energy usage, implementing cost-saving measures, and promoting sustainability initiatives in facility operations.
- Manage facility-related budgets, including capital expenditures, maintenance costs, and energy consumption.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for the procurement, installation, and servicing of equipment and facility infrastructure.
- Manage relationships and ensure contractors meet performance, safety, and quality
- Prepare project documentation, including timelines, cost estimates, and progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing facilities engineering or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in equipment maintenance, facility management, and process improvement.
- Experience with facility design, space optimization, and utility systems.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
