- Provide direct care to students in the Middle School, including administering medications, managing minor injuries, and assessing health concerns.
- Coordinate and manage the process for individualized action plans for students with medical conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies, seizures), ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the school day.
- Educate students on responsible medication self-carry practices while ensuring compliance with state and school health policies.
- Guide families through the completion of required health forms and immunization compliance, providing compassionate support as needed.
- Maintain the Middle School Health Room as a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment.
- Coordinate emergency readiness by managing first aid supplies, medication storage, and health protocols for field trips and school-sponsored events.
- Engage in proactive health promotion measures for the Lakeside community, including health screenings, wellness education, and prevention of communicable diseases.
- Provide on-site emergency medical response for students participating in after-school programs and athletics.
- Act as a healthcare liaison for after-school coordinators, athletic trainers, and coaches, offering medical support and guidance.
- Develop health policies, procedures, and training to support after-hours staff.
- Ensure emergency readiness by coordinating medical resources and training after-school personnel in first aid protocols.
- Maintain access to a director on-call for additional support in managing medical incidents.
- Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary Student Support Team (SST), which includes administrators, counselors, learning resources staff, and family support liaisons, to holistically address student health and promote academic success.
- Serve as a liaison between families, healthcare providers, and school faculty/staff to effectively address health concerns and implement support plans for students.
- Provide guidance and expertise on health policies and public health concerns, supporting the development and implementation of school-wide health initiatives.
- Coordinate faculty and staff training on essential health procedures, such as CPR, First Aid, and EpiPen use, ensuring compliance with annual training goals.
- Advocate for and support culturally responsive healthcare practices through professional education initiatives for faculty and staff.
- Pursue ongoing professional development, maintain certifications, and actively engage with nursing networks to stay current with best practices in school health care.
- Collaborate effectively within a team-centered environment that values mutual respect, problem-solving, and shared goals. Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders, including students, families, and colleagues, to maintain strong, supportive relationships.
- Demonstrate care and precision when conveying sensitive health information, ensuring messaging is clear, respectful, and supportive of student and family needs.

- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (required)
- Valid Washington State Registered Nurse License (required).
- Certification in Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED (required).
- Minimum two years of nursing experience in schools or with pediatric/adolescent populations (preferred).
- Proficiency in general technology use (e.g., Google Suite, Outlook) with a willingness to learn and master health-related databases specific to the role (e.g., Magnus Health, August Schools, Veracross).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive health information in accordance with professional standards.

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school in North Seattle, is seeking a full-time School Nurse to support student health during the school day and provide critical after-school medical coverage for Middle School students, athletics, and after-school programs. Primarily based in the Middle School as part of the Student Support Team (SST), this role will also collaborate with the All-School Nurse to support Upper School needs as needed. On-site Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM, this nurse will ensure comprehensive health services during the school day while also providing emergency medical coverage from 4-6 PM for after-school activities.Middle School
