As project estimator, you will be responsible for delivering accurate and high-quality service to all customers. The Project Estimator field quote requests from fax, email, and over the phone. The project estimator is expected to provide superior product knowledge and customer service, while being flexible and utilizing critical thinking, with a sales driven mentality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare estimates for projects using project drawings and / or specifications in a timely manner compliant with company standards.
- Provide estimating expertise and design assistance with the sales team and engineering to provide cost effective solutions and pricing.
- Ability to estimate commercial, residential, and industrial projects.
- Ability to use problem-solving and decision-making skills to solve tough problems and questions.
- Understanding of sales principles and ability to deliver excellent customer service.
- Provide follow-up on quotes per specific guidelines set by management.
- Review and identify opportunities for competitive analysis.
- Take part in the training and development of promo’s and new product rollouts.
- Aging inventory liquidation.
- Manage the order acceptance process.
- Create and manage all jobs up to the point of “ready to template.”
- Proactively work with the customer to gather all necessary information prior to template.
- Allocate / order the appropriate material.
- Other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 4 years Customer Service experience.
- 2-4 years’ experience in sales, estimating, construction, or architectural design or drafting.
- High degree of professionalism.
- Good time management skills and problem-solving attitude.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Ability to be punctual and ready to work.
- Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office.
- Strong math skills
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Applied Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience interpreting architectural plans and developing cost estimates.
- Kitchen and Bath Design industry knowledge.
- 2-4 years of experience in the tone fabrication industry.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on occasion.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Primarily indoor office environment.
Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
