What are the responsibilities and job description for the HQ Summer Investing Analyst position at Lakestone Staffing?
Our client is a San Francisco, New York City, and Salt Lake City-based private equity firm that is completely reimagining the private equity space. The primary focus of our Summer Investing Analyst program is to gain experience assessing potential investment opportunities for the client’s fund. This entails proactively analyzing industries and individual companies, identifying key trends and risks, and highlighting attractive areas for investment. As deal processes “go live,” the Summer Analysts will play a critical role on the deal team in assisting with various components of the deal process, including financial and customer analyses, building financial models, participating in on-site company visits, and conducting diligence meetings with business executives.
Our summer program is the main path for full-time Investing roles at our client's company and we aim for our Summer Analysts to matriculate into full-time Investing roles starting Fall 2027. Responsibilities
- Participate in our comprehensive 1-week onboarding program
- Learn how to prepare technical elements of deal processes, including : financial statement analysis, financial modeling, transaction structuring, and financial and operational due diligence
- Present deal opportunities dynamics to the deal teams and Partners
- Assist with the negotiation of deal structures and dynamics
- Meet with and present to company Management Teams
- Participate in a variety of firm-wide activities, including : cross-functional team social events, unique PeopleFirst development workshops, and unparalleled mentorship opportunities within the firm
- Current Sophomores (graduating December 2026 or Spring 2027)
- Strong academic performance at a leading university (GPA minimum of 3.7)
- Demonstrated interest in finance or private equity
- This 10-week program takes place during the Summer of 2026 and is based in San Francisco . You must be available starting June 1, 2026 to August 7, 2026.
- You will be responsible for your own room and board during the duration of your stay in San Francisco for this program.
- Hybrid, in-office 4 days per week.
- Base pay range for this role is expected to be between $8,000 - $9,000 per month of the program.
