Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our dental team in delivering high-quality care to our patients. This role involves assisting with various dental procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring that all patient records are accurately documented. The Dental Assistant will play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience and ensuring smooth operation of the practice.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, including but not limited to general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as required.
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in medical records.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
- Manage patient flow by ensuring timely communication with patients regarding their treatment plans.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Experience in dental assisting is preferred, particularly in areas such as but not limited to general dentistry.
- Familiarity with Dental terminology and documentation practices.
- Knowledge of infection control standards and procedures.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical records.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
