Cath Lab RN PRN Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cath Lab Nurse to join our team. As a highly-skilled and dedicated nurse, you will provide assistance with all invasive cardiac, vascular and interventional procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for all testing and therapeutics that takes place in the cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker procedures, tilt-table procedures, angioplasty, stent procedures, dialysis catheter procedures, nephrostomy and ureteral tube procedures, IVC filter procedures, IABP, pericardiocentesis procedures, and stress testing procedures.
- You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care.
- You will assist the patient through all aspects of the procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure, patient monitoring, and hemostasis following removal of catheter or sheath, and return to room.
- You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records and complete all paperwork associated with these procedures.
Requirements:
- Current nursing license in good standing
- Associate's Degree in nursing required, bachelor's preferred
- Two to three years of Cath Lab experience required
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire
- Ability to share some call requirement
