Summary: We are looking to fill a role on our 2nd shift. This position will be responsible for running a machine daily. They are responsible for ensuring that the machine produces high quality products, run smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained. Our shifts are: 1st shift: 6am-2pm, Monday through Friday and 2nd shift: 2pm to midnight, Monday-Thursday.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares material for die-cutting by rolling, sheeting and/or applying pressure sensitive adhesive.
- Places single or multiple layers of material on cutting surface or feed mechanism of machine.
- Sets up machine according to thickness of material and/or depth of die.
- Positions one or more cutting dies on material or affixes dies to head of machine and positions material under dies to ensure maximum utilization of material.
- Depresses buttons or starts machine to activate ram that forces die through material.
- Removes cut parts from die or bed of machine.
- Measures parts with rule or compares parts with standard to verify conformance to specifications.
- Stacks parts in storage area according to size and shape.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to lift and/or move product, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to be exposed to required chemical used in production/assembly, such as glue, bonding and sprays, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.75 per hour
