What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Policy Analyst position at Lakeview Loan Servicing?
The Credit Policy Analyst will support the Consumer Direct and Third Party Origination Channels for Lakeview Loan Servicing. The primary responsibility of the position/department is to coordinate with the stakeholders on the development and communication (both internal and external) of Lakeview Credit Policy. The Individual will review and interpret all FNMA/FHLMC/GNMA guidelines, announcements and recommend changes and enhancements to Lakeview policy to drive great execution and transparency. The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $90,000 with an annual bonus; however, Bayview considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilites, a candidate's work experience, education/training, location and key skills. The role is hybrid, 3 days in office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days at home (Monday & Friday.) Local offices to work out of are in Charlotte, NC or Horsham, PA.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, interpret and prepare updates to all product material used by lending channels, underwriting and correspondent clients (i.e. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac or GNMA announcements).
- Maintain a strong requirements tracking framework that enables a proactive planned change management cycles.
- Strong, professional communications delivery of credit policy requirements that drive transparency & brand awareness.
- Conduct analysis of credit policies to make informed recommendations about underwriting strategies to support credit products.
- Maintain a strong governance framework that ensures all requirements and product changes are assessed from a credit /operational risk, competitive impact and decisions are well documented.
- Research and evaluate internal/external data sources to increase value of underwriting practices such as review of competitive intelligence and maintain a working document that compares Lakeview Credit Policy to other investors in the marketplace.
- Maintain the current product matrices to ensure that the information that is provided to both internal and external partners is up-to-date and accurate. Complete any updates as required
- Act as a subject matter expert for internal partners to provide guidance on topics that would relate to credit policy to ensure a consistent methodology throughout the underwriting department.
- Partner with appropriate departments (Capital Markets Underwriting, Training) on any new or revised product roll outs.
- Act in accordance with company, policies and procedures.
- Complete special tasks as assigned by manager as needed.
Qualifications
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, VA, USDA and FHA Credit Policy requirements and underwriting guidelines.
- Knowledge of Housing Finance Agency lending
- Develop deep business process knowledge and stay abreast of business and regulatory changes.
- Ability to be self-directed and make independent decisions.
- Problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to foster internal and external business relationships.
- The ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 8 years mortgage industry experience; minimum 3 years’ experience in Credit Policy, Risk Management, or Underwriting.
- BS in Business Management, Finance, Accounting or related field is preferred
