What are the responsibilities and job description for the GOVT INSURING SPECIALIST position at Lakeview Loan Servicing?
The Government Insuring Specialist is responsible for the audit of FHA, VA, and USDA loans for submission to the appropriate government agency for insurance or guaranty. This role will be accountable for ensuring that all FHA, VA & USDA closed loans are reviewed, audited and insured for the Consumer Direct and Assumptions channels. This is a remote position with a pay range of $21.36 to $28.85 per hour plus monthly commission.
Responsibilities
- Perfect Government Binder documents in accordance with FHA/VA/USDA guidelines
- Perform the Pre-Endorsement review and sign off that all required documentation meets HUD guidelines.
- Work with Title Vendors and Internal Departments to clear loan exceptions which cause the loan to be uninsurable.
- Update LOS (Encompass) data to reflect the insuring status of the loan and any exceptions identified – track outstanding exceptions and ensure exceptions are cleared timely.
- Insure loans utilizing online registration systems: FHA Connections, WebLGY, USDA LINC
- Escalate and inform managers of any loans deemed uninsurable by FHA/VA/USDA guidelines.
- Handle audits received by HUD, VA, and USDA; upload binders and respond to exceptions.
- Communicate with VA, HUD/FHA, and USDA to communicate and resolve issues.
- Ensure LGC (VA), MIC (HUD), LNG (USDA) insurance certificates are received and transmitted to the subservicer.
- Other duties as needed or required by Management.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of HUD and VA insuring guidelines
- Strong knowledge of residential mortgage loan documentation required for FHA, VA, and USDA, loans, both full doc and streamlined documentation.
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong ability to communicate issues to HUD and VA authorities to resolve issues.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- 1 year of insuring government loans preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration
- Willingness and ability to obtain SAFE licensing (at company expense) may also be required.
