The CNA / Activity Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing vocational and recreational activities for our CBRF residents. This role aims to enhance residents' skills, promote social interaction, and improve their overall quality of life. The position requires a blend of creativity, instructional ability, and organizational skills to provide residents with a supportive and stimulating environment.
This is a day time position. Candidate will work every other weekend as part of the rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Implementation:
- Design and implement vocational training programs tailored to the needs and abilities of the residents.
- Develop and coordinate recreational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate activities with residents’ Individual Service Plans (ISPs).
Instruction and Support:
- Provide individualized instruction and support to residents in various vocational tasks.
- Facilitate group activities, ensuring all residents are engaged and participating.
- Assist residents in developing life skills and job readiness.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct assessments to identify residents’ interests, skills, and areas for development.
- Monitor and document residents’ progress, adjusting activities and instruction methods as needed.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and progress reports.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to residents’ care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding program goals and residents’ progress.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other relevant activities.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe and supportive environment.
- Adhere to all CBRF policies, state regulations, and HCBS Settings Rule requirements.
- Promote and model positive behavior and respect for all residents and staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
- CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant
- Must have a VALID Wisconsin Drivers License
- Certification in Therapeutic Recreation or related field is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in vocational training, activity coordination, or a related area.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a CBRF setting is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Creativity in developing engaging and meaningful activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
