We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented applicant who is compassionate, up-beat and driven to join our amazing team as a Veterinary Assistant. Our clinic is a busy 4 doctor practice, so applicants must enjoy a fast-paced environment. Our staff focuses on client education and preventative medicine. Skilled, critical thinking and the ability to anticipate are essential to help ensure the best patient care and client service is met.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Effective client communication and education
- Use of multi-line phone, email, fax, and computer
- Scheduling appointments using practice management software
- Triaging emergency situations
- Taking and filling prescription requests
- Processing payments for services and products
- Obtaining patient histories
- Provide safe and effective handling and restraint
- Phlebotomy
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
- Basic Husbandry
- Inventory Check-in
- Clear Communication with doctors and support staff
Requirements:
- 1-year vet assistant experience preferred
- 1-year veterinary experience required
- Foster collaborative relationships with other team members
- Be able to work in a professional and positive manner with attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
- Must be an effective communicator among team members and contribute to a harmonious workplace
- Must be able to accurately enter data into computer system and have basic math and money handling skills.
- Must be comfortable working with dogs and cats
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Endure sitting, standing, and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended period
Schedule
- Clinic is open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday; and 8am to 1pm Saturdays
- Full-Time employees are scheduled for 4 weekdays per week, and 2 Saturdays per month
- Open to part-time schedules or other scheduling requests

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $19.50 per hour
Expected hours: 29 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekends as needed
Experience:
- Veterinary assistant: 1 year (Preferred)
