General Manager
Middle Tennessee Region
Immediate opening for an experienced General Manager with sales, editorial and leadership experience for a small newspaper located in Jasper, TN. The successful candidate will direct and manage the comprehensive day-to-day activities and ensure the achievement of revenue goals and expense budgets attained. This position will ensure that the individual newspaper remains the primary and most relevant source of information in the market while supporting the community they serve.
General Duries Include:
- Direct, manage, and execute the oversight of advertising sales strategy.
- Coach and manage employees for continued success.
- Create and maintain relationships with the community.
- Set goals and promote all new initiatives.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of openness and positive communication.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field.
- Proven history of successful leadership: visionary, high energy, self-managing, effective communicator, fosters creativity and innovation, and manages complexity.
- Capability to identify and capitalize on opportunities quickly; ability to maintain effective balance between strategic and tactical priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to establish transparent, candid relationships while maintaining high standards of integrity; capability to present unvarnished truth in a constructive manner.
- Well-developed oral and written communications abilities.
