About the Team
The Activities/Enrichment Team at Lakewood Care Center designs and organizes a variety of engaging events and programs to enhance residents' quality of life. They focus on promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being through activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy, exercise sessions, social events, games, and outings. Their goal is to create a stimulating, supportive environment where residents feel connected, active, and valued.
Mission for Position
The mission of an Activity Aide is to enhance residents' well-being by organizing and facilitating engaging activities that promote social, physical, and emotional health.
Duties & Responsibilities
Our primary focus with residents is to encourage social interaction, stimulate cognitive functions, and provide opportunities for creativity and enjoyment. Their goal is to create a supportive, compassionate environment where residents feel valued, connected, and empowered. This position will primarily focus on activities, but will also assist with transfers, personal care, and other support tasks as part of the daily activity programs.
Position Type
Part-time: 24 hours per week with every 4th weekend rotation.
Shifts vary: 08:00am-4:30pm
09:00am-5:30pm
11:00am-7:30pm
Qualifications
Qualifications
- At least grade school education, prefer high school diploma or GED.
- Must complete a State of Minnesota approved Nursing Assistant Program Test Out in compliance with the Minnesota Statute 144A.61 subdivision b within 4 months of hire.
- Experience in geriatrics desirable.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willing to fill in for other activity staff while they are on vacation or ill.
- Willing to work extra hours on special occasions.
- Computer knowledge.
- CPR certification

- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers both verbally and in writing.
- Maintains therapeutic boundaries with patients.
