About the Department
The Medical Oncology Clinic provides specialized care for patients undergoing cancer treatment. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care while supporting patients and their families throughout their journey.
Mission for Position
To provide safe, high-quality patient care and clinical support in the Medical Oncology Clinic while ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient clinic operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct intake by gathering patient information and assessing individual health status.
- Report changes in patient conditions and responses to interventions to the provider.
- Implement delegated interventions and assist with in-clinic procedures.
- Administer IM, SQ, and PO medications as ordered and document appropriately.
- Perform rooming procedures, including intake, screenings, and chart preparation.
- Manage lab results, coordinate follow-up appointments, and ensure care continuity.
- Call in/enter provider-authorized prescriptions and administer therapies as directed.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens following established protocols.
- Support team discussions to improve patient care, workflows, and best practices.
- Assist with cross-coverage and support other specialty service lines as needed.
- Communicate with patients via phone, gather relevant information, and follow protocols.
- Report environmental or equipment issues to Clinic Management.
- Identify and report safety hazards to maintain a secure environment.
Position Type
- Full-Time (0.6 FTE)
- Monday-Friday, between the hours of 8am-5pm
- No holidays or weekends
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
- Current Minnesota LPN license.
- BLS Certification (must be maintained).
