Mission for Position
The Oncology-Infusion Scheduling Specialist ensures timely access to oncology and infusion care by managing scheduling, referrals, and prior authorizations while facilitating clear communication between patients, providers, and external facilities. Through accuracy, professionalism, and compassionate service, this role supports seamless coordination of care in alignment with Lakewood Health System’s mission.
Position Summary
The Oncology-Infusion Scheduling Specialist is responsible for coordinating patient access to oncology and infusion services at Lakewood Health System. This role ensures efficient scheduling, manages referrals, obtains prior authorizations, and facilitates communication between patients, providers, and external medical facilities. By maintaining organized records, assisting with patient follow-ups, and supporting care teams, the specialist plays a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care close to home.
This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service to ensure a smooth and supportive experience for patients receiving oncology and infusion care.
Position Type
This is a part-time, 48-59 hours per pay period.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
Ideal Candidate
- Oncology and infusion reception/scheduling experience preferred
- Medical Secretary training preferred
- Computer literacy
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and task management skills
