Responsibilities
The School Psychologist /Case Manager (per 6A:14-3.2 Case manager) will:
- Have working knowledge of NJAC 6A:14, Special Education and be knowledgeable of special education procedures and procedural safeguards.
- Maintain compliance in accordance to timelines set forth by NJAC 6A:14.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education, administrative directives, and State and Federal regulations which are appropriate for the position.
- Serve as liaison among school, parents, referral sources, and outside agencies to facilitate communication.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Identify academic and social emotional needs of referred students.
- Attend and participate in meetings according to mandates.
- Maintain physical and/or electronic student files.
- Coordinate the development, monitoring, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the IEP.
- Coordinate the Annual Review and Reevaluation process.
- Be knowledgeable about the student's educational needs and program.
- Be responsible for transition planning.
- Conduct Psychological Assessments for classification utilizing psychometric evaluations; observations; interviews; file reviews; and consultation with staff and Child Study Team members.
- Interpret assessment results to parents, team members, and staff for the purpose of facilitating instructional and social emotional approaches for the student.
- Provide Counseling according to IEP mandates.
- Participate in professional meetings and attend workshops designed for professional development.
- Demonstrate competence as a School Psychologist, Case Manager, and Child Study Team member.
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent/designee pursuant to the District’s Organizational chart.
