What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic position at Laksh, Inc.?
- Responsibilities:
- Checks fluid levels on all types of Trucks
- Changes and rotates tires, adds air and checks inflation of tires
- Changes oil and filters
- Performs general mechanical repairs to vehicles including trouble shooting mechanical problems and identifying their solution in an effort to correct malfunctions and reduce further breakdowns.
- Follows PM schedules on all equipment.
- Parks and delivers trucks
- Keeps records of gauge readings and amounts of supplies used
- Follows preventive maintenance servicing schedule
- Reports any questionable damage or mechanical problems
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Completes repair of vehicles in accordance with DOT and State laws.
- Knowledge of refrigeration maintenance and diagnostics
- Temperature calibration of refrigeration equipment.
- Maintains accurate records of each repair performed on all vehicles.
- Maintains shop area by keeping tools and equipment picked up; cleaning up liquid spills; sweeping floor; dumping trash, and performing other related duties
Required Minimum Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 year's experience in servicing of automotive equipment
- Must have a Valid Driver's License and the ability to meet all driving qualifications
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, 75 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written as well as excellent mathematical skills required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and mandatory ergonomics medical exam required.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without future employment sponsorship.
- Ability to drive a tractor trailer
