The Research Associate will join a team engineering yeast and bacteria with novel capabilities for use across Lallemand’s business units. The Research Associate will play a key role in developing and improving metabolic pathways to produce low carbon biochemicals.
Responsibilities include:
- Designing molecular constructs, cloning, and genetic engineering of yeast
- Strain genotyping and phenotyping.
- Small scale growth assays and enzyme assays.
- Documenting experimental procedures and results.
Required
- Knowledge of genetic and gene regulation
- B.A. / B.S. in biology, genetics, biochemistry, or related field.
- Experience in various molecular biology and microbiology procedures.
- Good troubleshooting skills to deal with technical problems.
- Experience in providing high quality, timely data.
- Lab experience outside of academic classes
- Synthetic Biology Skills (e.g. Golden gate, MoClo, Gibson Assembly, PCR)
- Experience working with yeast
- Genetic Engineering
- Fermentation
Required
- Desire to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated Oral and written communication skills
