What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Manager, U.S. Benefits position at Lam Research?
The Sr. Manager U.S. Benefits is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our benefits programs. This role directs the work of the U.S. benefits team (4 direct reports) and manages the full scope of U.S. benefits programs including health, retirement, leaves and disability. Ensures vendor partners are administering compliant programs according to performance and legal standards. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Benefits, this role is a key partner to HR and business leaders in executing Lam's Total Rewards philosophy.
- Manage the U.S. benefits team and support the design, renewal planning and negotiations; explore and recommend benefits plan design changes to support the business inclusion strategy
- Participate in the U.S 401(k) Committee as an advisor, including preparation of the agenda and materials for the meetings and serving as a core team member
- Manage annual open enrollment cycle including development of project plans, communication materials, systems testing, etc.
- Oversee audits and manage all required plan testing/filing including 401(k), STD, Health plans and 5500 reporting of benefit programs
- Demonstrate strong vendor management capabilities, partnering with local broker and service providers and manage performance expectations and service level guarantees
- Manages outsourced U.S. benefits plan administration (health and welfare and leaves of absence), communications and service delivery/helpdesk
- Establish strong partnerships with HR Shared Services, HRBPs, Legal, Payroll, Finance and other internal stakeholders; lead cross-functional projects as needed for the execution of benefits strategies and programs
- Oversee U.S. benefit program budget process for fringe and invoice management
- BS or BA or equivalent experience/training in Human Resources, Business or related field
- 10 years of relevant benefits and staff management experience for a multi-state employer
- Strong program and vendor management experience
- Experience with project management and cross-functional work
- Strong and current knowledge of regulatory landscape including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA and other federal and state employment laws
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Proficiency with HRIS and understanding of payroll concepts
- Strong negotiation skills - can reach appropriate resolution in many varied situations
- Open to remote location and must be in Pacific or Mountain time zone (not available to California applicants)
