Our Lamar office in Concord, California, is now hiring a new Director of Transit Sales to help us bring innovative outdoor advertising campaigns to life for brands in Concord, CA, and the surrounding areas. The purpose of the Director of Transit Sales is to lead and manage sales operations for the Transit Division. Director of Transit Sales is the first line manager over sales and designated administrative personnel.

What we’re looking for in YOU:
- Organize objectives, delegate responsibilities, training, evaluate subordinate effectiveness, and administer necessary discipline.
- Encourage and manage individuals in a professional manner.
- Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for reporting and PowerPoint for presentations/proposals.
- Professionally handle employee conflicts as equitable as possible.
- Persuasively speak to large and small audiences.
- Collaborate with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
- Set priorities based on the foremost needs of the organization.
- Analyze opportunities and problems to formulate and execute successful outcomes
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A highschool diploma is required.
- A driver’s license is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in management, marketing, or any related field is preferred.
- 10 years’ experience in advertising sales is required.
- 7 years’ experience in sales management is required.
A day in the life:
- Responsible for providing the monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for each salesperson that are in line with company objectives.
- Responsible for providing the monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for each transit authority that are in line with company objectives.
- Lead a team of local transit sellers, including hiring, training, managing, and mentoring and ensuring the sales process is followed and documented. Direct and manage personnel as needed in order to achieve sales goals.
- Effectively onboard employees the first 90-days of employment.
- Cultivate a professional, positive and energetic culture for internal & external clients.
- Identify and execute new revenue opportunities.
- Conduct training of sales personnel and weekly sales meetings.
- Attend client and prospect meetings with sales staff.
- Submit accurate reports as directed by senior management.
- Keep up-to-date on market competition, new and existing product knowledge, and industry trends.
- Ensure accurate and standardized marketing materials.
- Execute sales advertising contracts and sales expense reports.
- Attend industry functions and entertain clients during and outside normal working hours.
- Manage inventory levels and product pricing. Develop rate, group ceilings and deployment strategies through review of competitive data.
- Conduct/attend business review meetings, strategic sales meetings, management meetings and other meetings as required/requested.
- Network with community leaders, businesses, associations, and groups in order to familiarize them with Lamar’s services.
- Respond timely to in-bound communication from employees and customers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The primary work environments for this position include the office and vehicle.
- Must have a vehicle in good working condition to be used for local driving up to 50% of the time.
- Must carry automobile insurance that meets Lamar’s coverage requirements.
- The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (which include reading, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting more than 50% of the time, standing, talking, and walking.
- Nights spent away from home, traveling, are up to 50% of the time
