Primary Purpose:
The Principal of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center is responsible for the overall leadership, vision, and management of the center. This includes overseeing CTE program development, student achievement, faculty and staff supervision, industry partnerships, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The Principal will work collaboratively with district leadership, high school campus leadership, local businesses, and community stakeholders to ensure high-quality career training that aligns with workforce demands and prepares students for college and career success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Management
Instructional Management
1. Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes and use these findings for corrective action and improvement, as well as for recognition of success.
2. Collaborate with staff and community to plan, implement, and evaluate the curriculum on a systematic basis; include students, parents, and community representatives (when appropriate).
3. Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals.
4. Ensure CTE programs align with industry standards, certifications, and postsecondary pathways.
5. Lead the development and implementation of curriculum that meets state, federal, and industry requirements.
6. Monitor student performance data on industry-based certifications and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.
7. Monitor and understand the impact that CTE programming has on the CCMR component of district and school accountability.

1. Interview, select and orient new staff.

5. Confer with campus personnel regarding their professional growth; work jointly with them to develop and accomplish goals.

7. Supervise maintenance of facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe campus, including cooperation with governmental entities as appropriate.

EXPERIENCE:
OTHER INFORMATION: Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Ability to concentrate (detailed work), communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; reason, understand verbal instructions, analyze, differentiate, memorize, read, coordinate district functions, compile, compute, instruct, and maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional district and statewide travel, frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of experience as a classroom teacher
- Two years of campus administrative experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three years of experience in an instructional leadership role, specifically in CTE or secondary education.
- Principal experience preferred
- Experience with budget management, grant writing, and compliance with CTE regulations.
- Experience working with business and industry partners to develop workforce-aligned programs.
- Knowledge of dual-credit, work-based learning, and industry credentialing processes.
- Background in developing and leading innovative educational initiatives.
