JOB DESCRIPTION:


Lamar CISD is accepting applications for a Behavior/Social Skills Camp facilitator. The program is designed to prevent regression in the area of behavior or social skills for students in grades kindergarten- 12th. Person(s) selected will assist with planning and implementing Behavior or Social Skills Camp programming and activities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Management
  • Monitor the instructional program to ensure that program activities are related to program outcome.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate the curriculum on a systematic basis.
  • Assign all grade level classes, schedules, and locations.
  • Ensure regular reporting of student progress.
School/Organizational Climate
  • Provide instructional resources and materials to support teaching staff in accomplishing instructional goals.
  • Foster collegiality and team building among staff; encourage their active involvement in the collaborative decision making process.
  • Provide for effective two-way communication with staff, students, parents and community.
  • Communicate and promote expectations for high level performance from staff and students; recognize excellence and achievement.
  • Facilitate effective and timely conflict resolution.
School/Organizational Improvement
  • Maintain and use appropriate information systems and records necessary for attainment of campus performance objectives addressing each academic excellence indicator.
  • Strive to implement the District’s philosophy of education and instructional goals, and objectives.
Personnel Management
  • Assist in the interviewing, selecting, and orientating of new staff.
  • Observe employee performance, record observations, and conduct evaluation conferences with all staff as assigned.
  • Assist in making recommendations relative to the intervention program.
Administrative and Fiscal/Facilities Management
  • Supervise procurement, distribution and inventory of all program books and materials.
  • Provide input to the Special Education Coordinator for developing the budget; provide support to implement the programs within the budgetary limits.
  • Assist in the management of use of school facilities to ensure a clean, orderly, safe environment, including cooperation with governmental entities as appropriate.
Student Management
  • Work with faculty and students to develop a discipline management system which results in positive student behavior and school climate.
  • Ensure that program rules are uniformly observed with appropriate student discipline.
Professional Growth and Development
  • Observe professional ethical standards in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or Special Education Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff members
  • Supervise students

EXPERIENCE:


QUALIFICATIONS:


Minimum Education/Certification:
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Valid teaching certificate
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Eligible for coverage under the District's vehicle insurance program

Moderate lifting and carrying (15-44 pounds), pushing, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling, repeated bending, sitting, climbing (stairs), balancing, stooping, crouching, pulling, pushing, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speech, visual acuity, distinguishing colors, outside and inside, temperature extremes, humidity extremes, noise, microwaves, slippery surfaces, uneven surfaces, sunlight exposure, working with hands in water, works around moving objects or vehicles, works alone, frequent prolonged or irregular hours, travel (in district).
