JOB DESCRIPTION:
Primary Purpose: To assist in the operation of the central warehouse affairs of the district.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive freight from trucks with responsibility for accuracy in counting and checking for damage.
- Verify goods ordered, mark purchase order so that payment can be made.
- Contact vendors on errors and damage of goods.
- Receive warehouse stock and assist with stocking shelves.
- Assist with inventory control.
- Assist as a fill in driver for absent employees.
- Ability to lift and move 50 pound cartons/storage boxes.
- Correct unsafe conditions that may exist in the work area that could cause an accident. Any conditions that are not correctable by you are to be reported to the supervisor immediately.
- Know and practice the proper safety procedures in operating machinery and equipment as required for the job.
- Know and practice safety techniques in lifting, climbing, and performing other job duties.
- Attendance at work is an essential function.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Experience:
- Experience in a related field
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid Texas driver's license (appropriate type or class)
- Eligible for coverage under the District's vehicle insurance program
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Detail oriented

Equipment Used: Uses hydraulic tailgate, fork lift, pallet jack, hand truck, platform dolly and mobile ladder platform. Working Conditions: Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over), pushing, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers, walking, standing, kneeling (intermittent), repeated bending (intermittent), climbing (intermittent), operation of motor vehicle, specific visual requirements (reading product labels, requisitions), specific hearing requirements (oral and phone conversations), noise awareness (engines). Outside and inside; excessive heat, cold, humidity, dampness and/or chilling; dust, works around moving objects or vehicles, works on ladders or scaffolding (intermittent), unusual fatigue factors, walking, standing, bending, lifting.
