Primary Purpose
To support the daily activities of the Graphic Arts Print Shop in an organized, efficient and productive manner.
Qualifications
Minimum Education/Certification:
· High school diploma or G.E.D.
· Valid Texas driver’s license
· Eligible for coverage under the district’s vehicle insurance program
Special Knowledge/Skills:
· Exhibit ability to quickly learn and troubleshoot the operation of equipment and Print Shop software, including Fiery Command Workstation, Onyx Thrive and iQueue.
· Exhibit effective written and oral communication skills
· Ability to greet the public both in person and by telephone
· Basic understanding of the printing process and skills related to the Print industry
· Self-driven and motivated individual able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Experience:
· Two years of experience in desktop publishing on PC or Mac. Mac experience preferred
· Writing experience preferred
· Knowledge or interest in Graphic Design and Print experience preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
1. Assist customers with Digital Storefront orders. Help maintain Print ordering system as needed.
2. Assist all Print Production Technicians with Finishing and Bindery, including opening and closing jobs, as well as preparing jobs for shipment.
3. Maintain and file records of all print jobs.
4. Serve as a backup printer and mailroom technician.
5. Assist with preparing documents for printing
6. Support Print Publication team using Adobe Creative Suites on projects as directed.
7. Attendance at work is an essential function.
8. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.

Mac & PC’s, High volume Production Printers including Large Format Printers and laminator, Business Card Slitter, Envelope Printers, Flat bed printers and cutters, GBC Punch & Binder, Paper Drill, Perf/Scores/Numberer, Folder, Paper Jogger, Air Compressor, Power Lift for Paper, programmable paper cutter, Manual Pallet Jack, Electric Pallet Jack, 2 Wheel Dolly, manual Paper Cutter, Scale, Padmaster and Paddy Wagon, Light Table, Label Writer and Label Maker. and Web to Print software.
Working Conditions
Mental/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Light lifting and carrying (under 15 pounds), use of fingers, specific visual requirements (detailed graphic work, typesetting, proofing), operation of motor vehicle, unusual fatigue factors (computer work, detailed design work).
