Major Essential Job Functions:
Due to the growth of the Dual Enrollment opportunities in Career and Technical Education (CTE) with local Independent School Districts, positions for Adjunct Instructor are available.
Major Essential Job Functions:
- Teach courses as scheduled and actively engage students in the learning process
- Maintain one office hour per week/per course
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels
- Complete required training, such as Blackboard Certification, Title IX Training, etc.
- Must have reliable transportation for travel to assigned instructional sites
- Utilize LIT’s Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) to continually hone and improve professional knowledge and teaching skills
- Maintain knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures Manual
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Appropriate degree, in accordance with specific program instructor qualifications. For example, some programs require a master’s degree, while other, more technical programs may require an associate degree and/or industry certification or license.
- Experience requirements will vary depending on discipline being taught.
- Specific Certifications/Licenses may be required depending on discipline being taught.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Awareness of national issues and trends in education and related field
- Ability to use computers for email, Word documents and basic spreadsheets
