About This Role:
The Associate Athletics Director for Compliance reports directly to the Vice President, Director of Athletics and serves as the chief compliance officer for the athletics department. The successful candidate will lead the department’s compliance efforts, including education, monitoring, and enforcement, and will serve as a key advisor to the athletic director, senior staff and coaching staff on compliance matters. This position will ensure compliance operations are conducted in accordance with NCAA, Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System (TSUS) rules and regulations.

This position will ensure compliance operations are conducted in accordance with NCAA, Conference, Lamar University and Texas State University System (TSUS) rules and regulations.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the compliance office, including ensuring
adherence to NCAA rules and regulations. Lead the development, implementation, and
enforcement of policies and procedures designed to maintain institutional control. - Serve as the liaison between the department and the NCAA or conference on compliance-
related matters. - Manage compliance technology platforms (e.g., ARMS or similar systems) to streamline
monitoring and reporting activities. Ensure accurate and timely submission of mandatory
NCAA and conference reports/documents. - Coordinate the documentation, investigation, and resolution of potential compliance
violations. Submit self-reports and waivers to the NCAA and conference office when
necessary. Manage the institution’s response to investigations, including liaising with
legal counsel as required. - Act as the primary resource for educating athletics staff, coaches, student-athletes, and
other stakeholders on NCAA and conference rules. Provide timely interpretations of
complex rules and regulations to support informed decision-making across the
department. - Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Director of Athletics.

Physical Requirements:
- This position required sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to 25 pounds while performing duties as described within the essential functions.
Job Conditions:
- Duties are typically performed within athletics facilities and other buildings or outdoors.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to the essential job functions.
- Minimum 3 years of progressively increasing responsibility and experience in NCAA compliance, athletics administration, or a related field and demonstrated knowledge of NCAA Division I .rules, policies, and governance.
