This student position involves supporting staff members by answering phones, greeting, and assisting guests, filing, scanning, data entry, and providing other administrative support as assigned.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
This student position involves supporting staff members by answering phones, greeting, and assisting guests, filing, scanning, data entry, and providing other administrative support as assigned.
What You’ll Do – Position Responsibilities:
- Manage the main HR phone line, directing callers to the appropriate resources or HR office efficiently and professionally.
- Oversee guest traffic, warmly greeting both internal and external customers, and guiding them to the HR office as needed.
- Assist with various HR projects, including student employment resources and employee engagement initiatives, ensuring timely and effective support.
- Coordinate and support HR related events. Encouraging participation and engagement.
- Perform general office tasks, including data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), strong verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled at Lamar University as a Full-Time Student.
- Must be majoring in the College of Business and eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- Previous experience in customer service or administrative capacity.
- A current College of Business student
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting, Standing, ability to lift 40 pounds.

- Office Environment with frequent interruptions.
- Regular working hours. Monday –Friday 8am-5pm.
