Job Description Summary
A successful candidate understands the Source-to-Pay process from beginning to end as it pertains to direct material procurement and can actively demonstrate through an understanding of supply assurance and risk mitigation, category and sourcing strategy development, negotiation, contracting, supplier management, and analysis. Capable in cross functional engagements with stakeholders and prioritizing activities to achieve procurement department objectives and financial results. Must maintain the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders clearly and concisely with a strong understanding of global ingredient markets, Source-to-Pay fundamentals, factory environments, and risk mitigation strategies. Coordination and follow through with stakeholders and suppliers regarding planning, pricing, order allocation, order status, contract compliance, and documentation is of utmost importance. Must maintain records and files in accordance with Lamb Weston document retention policy as well as project requirements.
Job Description
- End-to-end management of assigned categories
- Execute Strategic Sourcing Process, enabling value generation through innovation and cost improvements
- Identify value creation opportunities by developing a deep understanding of business requirements, challenges, and opportunities, and leveraging these insights to create and implement savings initiatives
- Leverage opportunities to lower total cost of ownership or increase value to the business while ensuring supply
- Use knowledge of global markets, suppliers, and processes to bring opportunities to the forefront
- Proactively manage supplier relationships resulting in a reduction of contractual risks
- Clearly communicate risks and issues to key stakeholders, knowing when and to whom to escalate significant issue
- Comply with all Procurement and company policies, procedures, and practices
- Apply project management principles to drive cross-functional teams in effective and efficient delivery of business objectives for both day-to-day activities and key projects
- Collect, manage, and report external market intelligence to appropriate stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with management and finance teams on the reporting of appropriate metrics.
- Assist with AOP planning
- Assist with tactical Procurement activities, maintain records, files and run reports as needed
- Assist with tasks at Manager's direction
