Job Description Summary
This position reports to a Tax Manager within the Corporate Tax Team and will have responsibilities around corporate income tax compliance at the federal, state, local and international levels. Additionally, the position will be involved with tax accounting, audits and planning in all areas of tax.
Job Description
- Assist in the completion of the federal income tax filings for the Company’s consolidated group. Complete state and local income and franchise tax filings in the numerous jurisdictions in which the Company conducts business.
- Assist with U.S. tax reports (e.g. Forms 5471, 8865, 8858 and 1118) for the Company’s numerous foreign subsidiaries.
- Prepare quarterly federal and state estimated tax liabilities.
- Prepare annual federal and state tax return extension requests.
- Assist with ASC 740 computations for both quarterly and year-end tax provisions.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes for tax accounts, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with addressing IRS and State Revenue Agency notices.
- Maintain corporate tax calendar and return log.
- Assist with tax research and planning involving federal income tax and state income tax.
- Assist with documentation and testing of internal controls as required by Sarbanes Oxley.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree, CPA or other professional designation preferred.
- 2 years of experience in the tax field, with experience preparing federal consolidated returns and multi-state corporate tax returns.
- Public accounting experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven record of good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, both in-person and remotely.
- Competency with MS Office software and electronic tax research tools (e.g. CCH, RIA, etc.)
- Experience with SAP and CSC Corptax provision and compliance tools desired, but not required.
