Job Summary
We’re seeking a skilled and organized Gate Technician & Expeditor to handle on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance for gate systems while also transporting materials using a trailer. Based out of our office in Haltom City, TX, this role requires frequent travel across the DFW metroplex to customer sites, vendor locations, and offices.
The candidate will report directly to the Operations Manager and receive a company truck and business mobile phone for work. Personal truck usage is reimbursed for travel expenses.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide a positive, collaborative, and informative experience to both residential and commercial customers.
- Diagnose issues prompting service calls and confirm authorization for repairs, including resolving scope and warranty-related matters.
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction and address additional needs.
Gate Technician Duties
- Perform all necessary preventive and corrective maintenance for gates and access control systems.
- Weld, wire, and program customer equipment based on service requirements.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware/software issues with access control panels, card readers, and related systems.
- Replace or upgrade components such as motors, drives, closers, actuators, readers, controllers, and power supplies.
- Ensure all workplace health and safety standards are met and maintain cleanliness and security of job sites.
Expeditor Duties
- Safely transport materials and equipment using a trailer to and from job sites.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and maintain an organized inventory.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized workspace and trailer.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate service records, detailing work performed, parts replaced, and any additional observations.
- Schedule and document preventative maintenance for gate systems.
- Report recurring issues or recommendations for system upgrades to management.
Qualifications
Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years working with gate operators, low-voltage systems, or similar fields.
- Proven trailer driving experience with a clean driving record.
Skills
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient in-service management software, email, and basic documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform tasks such as kneeling, climbing, and standing throughout the workday.
- OSHA 10 Certification is a plus.
