We are a medium-sized CPA firm seeking a qualified tax preparer level candidate who is interested in, and fully capable of, developing/managing relationships with small business and individual clients. The candidate must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate well with clients as well as prepare and review tax returns and other tax/accounting projects. Experience working with the major Microsoft Office is required. Experience working with Lacerte tax software is preferred. Due to the seasonal nature of our work, reasonable levels of overtime are required during tax season. Flexible work schedules accommodated at the discretion of the partner group. Pay: Starting at $35,000-$42,000 per year. (Based on Experience)
Experience:
- Tax-related public accounting: 1-2 years (Required)
- Lacerte tax software: 1-3 years (Preferred)
- Client relationship management: 1-3 years (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred)
- Proficiency in individual, corporate, and partnership taxation
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and effectively delegate as needed

Responsibilities
- Deliver a full range of tax services in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
- Review various tax returns - individual, corporate, and partnership returns and make recommendations and decisions to address client needs
- Ensure the accuracy of tax returns including the documentation supporting tax positions
- Conduct tax research and provide effective solutions for clients
- Identify and mitigate tax risks
- Read and be familiar with pronouncements from the AICPA
- Stay up to date on firm policies, procedures, and the AICPA and the state CPA society’s rules, regulations, and Code of Ethics
- Abide by the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
