Job Summary
The Health Information Management (HIM) Coordinator manages activities related to the disclosure, requisition, maintenance, and storage of health information for the agency in compliance with federal and state laws and generally accepted HIM best practices; reviews and fulfills record requests as appropriate and required in a timely manner; effectively prioritizes a multi-faceted workload; provides input related to HIM operations; manages and fulfills as appropriate and required the incoming record requests from myHealthPointe, which is the consumer healthcare portal; occasionally oversees activities and projects related to HIM; supports agency monitoring processes related to service documentation, assessments, and plans of care to help ensure compliance and clinical best practices; maintains attention to detail in all tasks.
Education/Experience
Required: Associate degree, 3-5 years of experience in healthcare field
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
License/Certifications
Required: n/a
Preferred: HIM Certification
