What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Specialist position at Lampeter-Strasburg School District?
The Lampeter-Strasburg School District is seeking a Technology Specialist. This is an anticipated permanent, 12-month position available February, 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students regarding district-issued devices (laptops, desktops, tablets, etc.) and software applications.
Provide hardware repairs to student and staff devices.
Work collaboratively with department members to create tutorials for the District.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and peripherals. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware and software.
Assist with setting up and maintaining instructional technology equipment (displays, projectors, printers, interactive boards, smart devices, etc.).
Maintain accurate records of technology assets and service requests. Develop and deliver basic technology training sessions for staff and students.
Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and educational technology trends.
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify technology needs and develop solutions to support curriculum goals.
Ensure adherence to all district technology policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology.
Qualifications
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree in IT or a related field preferred.
Minimum of one year of experience in a technical support role.
Strong understanding of computer hardware and software troubleshooting principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely.
Strong ability to learn technological advances and apply them to the job.
Ability to work in a team environment to offer technology support to colleagues.
Must have a valid PA Driver’s License and be willing to use a personal vehicle to travel to other buildings and training sites when needed.
Must have or be willing to attain all clearances required to work in a public school, including, but not
limited to FBI, State Police, and child abuse clearances.
Regularly climbs ladders and moves materials that weigh up to 50 lbs
Required Qualifications Upon Offer of Employment:
- Current PA Criminal History background check
- Current FBI Criminal background check
- Current Child Abuse background check
- Proof of TB test, results must be within the past year
