Job Title: SolarWinds Admin/Monitoring Consultant
Location: Harrisburg, PA (Remote)
Should be local within 30-40 miles to the client location, once in a month onsite
Qualifications:
5 years of SolarWinds admin/deployment experience
5 years of Ansible admin/deployment experience
3 years of Log Analytics Azure experience
8 years of MS Windows Server admin/deployment experience
3 years of Linux Server admin/deployment experience
5 years of PowerShell scripting experience
3 years of Incident Management experience
Position Purpose:
The incumbent will be a subject matter expert (SME) on monitoring tools and processes used by the Commonwealth. Responsibilities include:
Collaborating with technical specialists, agency teams, and vendors to implement actionable monitoring and reporting.
Transforming person-centric processes into structured, repeatable, and highly documented automated workflows.
Managing and continuously improving key enterprise monitoring processes, including change, incident reporting, and problem resolution.
Evaluating, preparing, and implementing technical solutions for on-prem and cloud-based applications and technology resources.
Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring consistent communication strategies.
Description of Duties:
Act as the technical SME for enterprise-wide systems.
Implement products/services requiring significant oversight.
Interpret, process, and report data to create meaningful business and operational dashboards.
Maintain and troubleshoot monitoring tools, including System Center Operations Manager, SolarWinds, SightLine, and SquaredUp.
Identify process and tool improvements to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Create Azure Monitor resources and Log Analytics queries.
Document and maintain on-prem and cloud automations.
Create and maintain SOAP/REST/JSON/API calls using PowerShell or other compatible languages.
Troubleshoot monitoring tool connectivity to endpoints.
Develop documentation for new and existing processes.
Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with enterprise change and incident managers to ensure standardized and documented workflows are followed.
Monitor incident and problem resolution processes to ensure timely service restoration and root cause analysis.
Manage and document operational procedures and responses for NOC teams.
Develop a documentation workflow to capture and update operational procedures regularly.
Ensure consistent communication strategies for changes, incidents, and problem management.
Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing exercises.
Maintain currency in network technology through seminars, conferences, and training classes.
Utilize ServiceNow for change management and policy development.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
